We love CUES, Tim, and Dr. Gruber

Posted by Trey Reeme on May 23rd, 2007

I’ve needed a break from blogging, so I haven’t been around much recently. Too much credit union stuff on the brain, and here’s a tip for a blogger who’s near burnout: don’t write anything if you don’t have anything to say. It will keep you sane.

Three items have broken my silence.

CUES Nexus

First, the CUES Nexus Connection blog has been brought back, refocused, and is now indispensable. Lisa, Mary, and Christopher are to be commended for the work there and on Skybox, which is showing much more personality on much more regular posts.

Tim McAlpine

That anyone would put the time into a YouTube-driven campaign for getting on the Symposium speaker roster rocks. That the video has seen 135 views without a direct link from here (until now) is pretty cool, too.

Thank you, Alabama Credit Union. You have joined Coast Capital Savings on my very short “marketing I don’t mind” list. (That doesn’t really exist, so I’m creating it now).

I so want a mug!

Not only will I vote for Tim—but will proudly share stage time with him. I will give up half of my time slot to get him in there. Whatever he wants.

Vote for the Canadian!!!! I agree!!!

I think you guys are onto something. Making speakers work for it—so many speakers feel like they just “showed up”. Tim can juggle. I can’t juggle.

    Vote for Tim!

Denise, even though you’re already a speaker, you could always create a video of your own to get people pumped up.

That would be fun to see!

I am so inspired I was actually thinking about it. Stay tuned…..

Can I just say how much fun I had with this post! I especially LOVE Dr. Gruber. I had a blast with it! Who came up with something so creative?! That’s awesome!

And great job on the video Tim! Now if only I could go in October to see you all. :(

Dang! I’m glad I didn’t have to send in a video audition. Not only can I not juggle, I don’t think I could find three friends to hold signs behind me.

I vote for Tim. I liked the music he played on his video. It had a good beat. You could dance to it.

    Go Canadians.

    Trey,

Thanks for posting the link to the Gruber Institute of Financial Wellness. It made my morning. It is almost as funny as Carrerbuilder.com’s Monk-E-Mail (if you haven’t sent a Monk-E-mail I highly suggest it)

It’s sites like these that best get across the credit union message to the younger generation. I’ve already sent a couple of Dr. Gruber’s intervention emails to my bank friends.

to quote Dr. Gruber, “we should all drop our bank like last nights burrito.”

Ha Ha – that’s the line I chose for my e-mail too . . . drop your bank “like last nights burrito.” I love it!

Gosh, thanks! When I hit the submit button on my comment on the original post, I had total ‘clickers’ remorse! Thanks for all the positive feedback!

Denise, I’ll teach you to juggle. We could do chainsaws together on stage.

    (Vote 4 Tim!)

And welcome back to blogging, Trey. It’s fun to be part of YOUR inspiration instead of the other way around.

Thanks for the shout out to the new Nexus blog and for the kind words, Trey.

And I vote for Tim. Not only can he juggle…not only does he have three friends who will stand behind him with signs…Currency Marketing is on my list of daily “gotta reads.” I love the topic of “Can You Be Small and Still Be Good?”

I’ve already cast my vote for Tim…. but do you think it would be possible to have both Tim and Dr. Gruber (sorry, don’t know how to put the dots over the “u”) present at the conference?

  12. Jessica on May 25th, 2007 said:

Ahhh, what a WONDERFUL idea Ron! I vote for Dr. Gruber too!

From Denise in support of Tim.

    The campaign spreads!
