As some of you jump into the minimally-charted waters of iPhone-app design for your credit union, I hope these stencils and user-interface elements come in handy for mocking up and prototyping designs:
On a related note – which credit unions are doing something cool with the iPhone or iTouch? If something’s impressed you, drop a line in the comments. The best find (this is a very subjective contest) gets a $5 Starbucks card and this brilliant pair of sunglasses.

Our provincial central credit union (Central 1) through MemberDirectIntegrated released a simple iPhone interface. Using the same Web based Internet banking product you sign in and can get your balances and the last 2 weeks of transactions on a chequing account.
I think there were 5 credit unions in BC that had that interface up on July 11th.
Hi Brent,
The Iphone SDK (available for download from Apple) has a library of all those cool iPhone User interface items in Xcode along with a very slick iPhone simulator console for testing.
I have been hammering all of those free tutorials and I can recommend the following website for geeks like myself: http://www.iphonedevcentral.org/home.php.
One of the books I can recommend is Programming in Objective C (http://www.amazon.com/Programming-Objective-C-Developers-Library-Stephen/dp/0672325861)
I’ll check back in a few months with the progress of an app I’m building for fun.

Very cool. Do you see that translating into something beyond a read-only interface any time in the near future?

Thanks for the awesome resources! As soon as your app is to a showing point, I’d love to take a look at it. Is it an app for your credit union, or something else?
These are awesome resources, thanks to Brent, Gabriel, and Gene for sharing!
Thanks Brent – I will probably release my fun application to my CU buddies first. At this point it isn’t CU related but I have an idea for one and when I get a bit more familarized with Objective C I’ll be taking a stab. :)

Hi Brent! I’ve been busy with a couple of big projects lately and am just now catching up on all the blog posts I’ve missed! It’s not much, but I developed a quick iPhone template for displaying posts on our student website. You can check it out at: www.utfcu-rocks.com/index.php/iphone
I won’t have an iPhone until November so I have not tested it yet, but I believe it works :-)
